Purley on Thames, Sunday 12th August 2012
30 Over Match: Purley on Thames beat Inkpen by 46 runs (Purley on Thames 142/3, Inkpen 96 all out in 22 overs)
Inkpen won the toss and put Purley in to bat. Following a positive start from Purley, a generally decent fielding performance by nine-men Inkpen restricted the visitors to 142 from their 30 overs. One glaring negative was the 28 wide deliveries from the Inkpen bowlers.
Following an early exit for James Wooldridge, Inkpen then got into a strong position with Anthony Parkinson (46) supported by Ian Dixon moving the score quickly to 67 before the next wicket fell. Unfortunately the momentum could not be maintained and, even with the late addition of Mark Robinson, Inkpen slipped to 96 all out.
Overall however, an enjoyable afternoon against a friendly oppostion in the long overdue sunshine
