30 Over Match: Peasemore beat Inkpen by 55 runs (Peasemore 130/9, Inkpen 75/9)
Thank you to all those that played in the opening match of our 2014 season, from the rookies to the more experienced players.
It was a surprisingly sunny day over at Peasmore and a good day for cricket. After Inkpen lost the toss the home team elected to bat and had a good start but it wasn’t long until James Wooldrige, the pick of the Inkpen bowlers with 2-17, made the breakthrough in the 7th over. Peasemore went on to score 130 leaving the visitors a substantial total to chase down.
After tea Inkpen took their turn to bat and a good start was made by Mark Robinson and James Wooldrige however this was to come to an end as wickets started to fall. Inkpen’s top run scorer was Ian Dixon with a healthy 28 but this was not enough too see Inkpen to victory.
The season is just getting started and there is a long way to go and many victories to be obtained. A very good effort chaps and see you all soon.
